We’ve created this page as a resource for all you beautiful people to ask any questions you may have for us and, thus, as a quick reference for the ones that are commonly asked. We’ve also added a few of our own that we’ve predicted you might ask in the future. So feel free to ask away and we’ll be sure to respond promptly to the best of our abilities!
What’s with the name Broken Plow? What’s it mean?
“Broken Plow” is the name of our property. This land was long used as a potato farm before Cassie’s parents purchased it and sculpted the land into a homestead in the early 1980s. On one of their first days working the land, her parents found an antique, rusted, broken plow hidden in the brush. The name stuck and so did the plow! The plow is the centerpiece of a flowerbed on the property.
Why did you decide to move to such a small town?
We’re both country people with country hearts, turned off by noise, traffic and tight spaces. We’ve moved to a town of 1,400 people because fast-food restaurants and big box stores stay away from it. When we need to venture out to grocery shop, we’re 15 minutes from the store, or if we have the rare urge to go dancing, we’re a 40 minute drive from Louisville, Kentucky, which is plenty close enough for us!
Where is Pekin?
